The largest amount of runs the Phillies have scored in a game in a long time happened on Saturday, July 1st at Citizens Bank Park as the Phillies brought out the bats to gain a 19-4 win over the Washington Nationals to end the Nationals win streak at 3 before 42,784 fans at CBP. It was the most runs the Phillies have scored in a game in 5 years.

But this team is always full of surprises, and on Sunday, the surprise was that the Phillies would not take this series against the Nationals behind a 5-4 loss to them as Ranger Suarez, who had looked very sharp in his last couple outings, gave up 5 ER on the afternoon leading to a loss for him and the team.

It will be interesting to see what happens in this series. It opens up with Aaron Nola on the mound for the Phillies, going up against a familiar name, Zach Eflin, who has 9 wins on the year.
As I said, the Rays are one of the best teams in baseball regarding their record. Going into the game today, the Rays are 57-30. The Atlanta Braves recently passed them with a slightly better 57-27 record, for the overall best record in baseball.
The Phillies are 44-39 but these games like Sunday’s loss seem to haunt them at times. If the Phils don’t make the playoffs, we will look back at games like these are the reason.

It is so great to see him have a great season like a lot of people thought he would, even after his rough start to his Phillies career last year.
