The Phillies came to play in Game 1 in Houston facing the pitcher that did so well against the team in the World Series last year, Framber Valzdez. The team dealt Valdez his 3rd loss of the year last night, winning 3-1. Kyle Schwarber hit a HR in the first inning that was answered by the Astros in the bottom half of the first.

The game was broadcast on Apple TV exclusively, so a lot of Phillies fans may not have seen this awesome win by the Phils.
Aaron Nola earned the win, he got 6 K’s on the night, pitching 8.0 innings, giving up only 3 H and 1 ER which was the home run hit by the Astros shortstop, Jeremy Pena, in the 5th inning. Cristian Pache got a key double in the 5th with an RBI scoring Edmundo Sosa (who went 2-3 at the plate on the night) giving the Phils a 2-1 lead at the time. Brandon Marsh, added another RBI in the top of the 7th inning, with a base hit scoring Edmundo Sosa to put the Phils up 3-1.

Great win last night, the series continues tonight Saturday, April 29th, with Zack Wheeler pitching for the Phillies taking on Cristian Javier and the Houston Astros at 5:10 PM local time.
