Marsh and Castellanos power Phils series win, as Seattle visits next

The 0-4 start by this Phillies team has almost been forgotten. The Phils powered themselves to a series win vs Colorado, taking 3 out of 4 games of the series in addition to having a few sellouts with overflow crowds for this series. Yesterday was a prime example, for a Sunday game that started at 12:05 PM, there were 44,618 fans that paid to see baseball in South Philly. They didn’t leave disappointed as the Phillies beat up on the Rockies 9-3 in the final game of the 4-game series between the two teams. Zack Wheeler struck out 11 batters, which is a season-high for him in his 5th start of the year, to earn the win, his 2nd of the season. It was home run ball by the Phillies for the powered win, as the team was 1-7 with RISP during the game. 4 home runs were hit though and powered the club to the 11th win of the season, now the Phils sit just 1-game under .500 and look to further improve with a series starting up with the Seattle Mariners starting on Tuesday.

Saturday afternoon’s hero, Nick Castellanos, gave an interview to the Peacock Network on the 12:05 PM Sunday broadcast. Castellanos had one of the best games that he ever had so far as a Phillie on Saturday, hitting 2 HRs and going 3-4 on the afternoon and oh yes, another double. Castellanos led the NL in doubles early on this season, he is still on top as of Monday morning, April 24, he is tied at 10 2B hits with the MLB (Matt Chapman TOR has 10 as well), Casty leads the NL in doubles. Castellanos also has a .307 BA so far.

Trea Turner hit one of the season-high 4 HRs in a game yesterday, on Sunday, in the bottom of the 1st inning. It was Jose Urena‘s 8th HR he has given up in 15 IP so far in the early 2023 season from him on the Rockies. Kody Clemons added to the HR party along with Bryson Stott, and Brandon Marsh also checked in with a long ball. Marsh currently leads the MLB in OPS with a scorching 1.213. Marsh also leads the Phillies with a .364 BA as everyone is starting to turn it around on offense all of a sudden.
