The Phillies bolstered their bullpen in the last couple of days to a level that may be one of the best in years. The Phils added Matt Strahm on December 9, and Taijuan Walker was added to the starting rotation on December 16. The Phillies were not done though.
The Phillies hope to return to the playoffs in ’23 as they did last year

On January 4, the Phils added Craig Kimbrel to an already improved bullpen and then just this past week, the Phillies added on January 7th, Gregory Soto from the Detroit Tigers (read more about Soto here) along with 2B Kody Clemens, the son of ‘The Rocket’ – Roger Clemens. We had to give up a couple of players that have good playing for the Phils last year, Matt Vierling and Nick Maton, sending the pair to Detroit in exchange for Soto and Clemens.
Wow!
If that doesn’t make you happy as a Phillies fan, I am not sure what else will. We picked up Trea Turner on December 8 as well. That is a lot of additions by the Phillies, many more than this writer expected.
