The ‘playoff run’ team is in place. The new look Philadelphia Phillies will start a series with the Washington Nationals tonight at Citizens Bank Park and the last acquisition that the Phillies made at the trade deadline, Noah Syndergaard, a former uprising star with the New York Mets, and directly from the LA Angels formerly, will take the mound for his first start in Phillie pinstripes.

The Phils delivered a much-needed win yesterday with the timely home run by Nick Castellanos. We knew he could come through for the Phillies and he did just that yesterday with what would be the difference in the game. The Phils won 3-1 over division rival Atlanta Braves.

David Robertson, who we obtained from the Chicago Cubs delivered his first save yesterday for this season for the Phillies. He was a Phillie for a short time in 2019, only appeared in 7 games for the Phils back then, he had to have Tommy John surgery and missed 2020 season completely. So he is back now as a 37-year-old closer for the Phils.

Phils Alumni Weekend is this weekend, a great time to honor some great moments in Phillies history!

The Phils did fairly well at the trade deadline, patching some much-needed holes in the team. Time will tell if that is enough to get the job done to make it into the playoffs. Bryce Harper is still due to return to the team at some point in the season.

This weekend is a great weekend for the Phillies fans that go to some games in person. The ‘Wall Of Fame’, which is quickly filling up, will be adding to former Phils this weekend – Bake McBride and Ron Reed will be inducted on the wall on Saturday the game starts at 6:05 PM, so be there early to see it. Sunday will be a historic day at CBP, Phillies Alumni Day takes place prior to the 1:35 PM start – A lot of former Phillies great players will be on hand for this, even Pete Rose will be on the field with the 1980 World Series players who can still be there in person to represent their accomplishment.
