Phils vs Brewers tonight on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball

The Phillies will take the national stage vs. the Milwaukee Brewers on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball tonight at 7:08 PM. Every time the Phillies look good in a game, they can’t seem to sustain that into some sort of a winning streak. I had to look back at some articles in the FightinPhillies blog to September 22, 2019 when the Phils were on Sunday Night Baseball but got beat 10-1 by the Cleveland Indians who won their 92nd win of the year in that game.

The Phillies have a great new look though now, with a potent offense that we’re told is about to launch into ‘burst out’ mode at any moment. Could this be the night? Let’s look at that potentially potent offense. Nick Castellanos is batting .321 with 3 HR and 9 RBI on the season, right behind him is Kyle Schwarber with the 4 HR and 9 RBI, he is batting only .164 but when he catches fire, I think he is going to lead this team in HR and RBI by the end of the season. Don’t forget about Bryce Harper either, he is at 2 HR and 11 RBI with a .241 BA so far.

Aaron Nola will be starting his 4th game of the season and is 1-1 lifetime vs. Milwaukee with a 3.27 ERA vs. the Brew Crew. Nola has looked great in the first 5 innings of his games, but then shortly after that, he seems to give up the home run ball, we’ll see if this changes with this start. Nola has already given up a Phillies starting pitcher high of 4 HR balls and has hit 3 batters. Nola is 1-2 with a 5.52 ERA coming into tonight’s game.
