Opening Day 2022 – Friday for Phillies

A new era starts for the Phillies for the ’22 MLB baseball season as the team takes the field for the brand new season. It will be the 140th season for the Phillies, who first played a season back in 1883, the team is opening up in Philadelphia after the schedule change with the MLB lockout. It seems great that the Phillies will be able to start this season up at home.

I’ll be up covering the Opening Day action for the Phillies. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the ballpark, with almost 2 full seasons affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s slowly getting back to normal for baseball fans. No more masks, no social distancing, all these terms will be with us for the rest of our lives as we chug forward from here.

An interesting Phillie, Aaron Nola, will get the Opening Day starting pitching chores for the Phillies, it will be the 5th time Nola gets the ball on Opening Day. Nola’s record last season was 9-9 in 32 starts. He was the Phillies ace until Zack Wheeler joined the team. Some have said this will be an important season for the starting pitcher. There was also an interesting article on Nola’s offseason where he traveled around the country in a camper van, see the link below:
