Yesterday, the Phillies fans got their first look at the addition to the 2022 Phillies team that fans have been excited about, of course, Nick Castellanos. He made his debut in Phillies Spring Training against the Toronto Blue Jays. He didn’t do that bad, he went 1-2 with the Phils on a day that Bryce Harper showed his power with 2 home runs and 3 RBI on the day.Embed from Getty Images
This could be a situation where all the heavy hitters; Harper, Schwarber, Castellanos, and Hoskins have a battle among themselves to see who’s better and who’s best. This way the Phillies should churn out a lot of offensive power this year as they displayed in the 10-5 victory against the Blue Jays on Sunday in Dunedin.
"I want to apologize not only to Chris Rock but to the people who watched that live. I consider myself a man of faith as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame." Will Smith said after the incident.— Lights out and away we go🇺🇦 (@The_dawg06) March 28, 2022
Castellanos is even popular with Will Smith who after he slapped Chris Rock during the Oscars yesterday, Smith mentioned Nick Castellanos in a humorous description and apology of sorts for the incident.
Castellanos will wear number 8 for Phils, he wore the number 6 jersey for the Cubs and the number 2 jersey for the Reds. Last year he hit 34 HR and 100 RBI for the Reds. He’s 30 years old and his birthday is March 4, 1992. Some players appear to be attached to a certain jersey number, it’s actually refreshing that Castellanos doesn’t appear to be that type of player.
