The time to get a deal done with the MLB ownership and players is starting to slip past the time to give baseball a chance to start on time for Spring Training anyway. Clubs usually open up for pitchers and catchers around Valentines’ Day, but this year it isn’t the Covid protocols that will be the culprit to put a stop to this.
The news reported yesterday was the MLB wanted a federal mediator to step in and figure out the next step, but immediately this was disputed by the players association. Why stand in the way of getting to an agreement? Some help is better than none when it comes to one side of the baseball world in the owners and the other side, the players.
