Scrappy Phillies get 3rd Walk-off in a row

I was going to start this headline off with ‘Workman like’ Phillies win 3rd in a row behind the walk-off. But we already know the Phillies are blue collar. They are not in the same breath as the Dodgers, Yankees, Padres, and even Giants, but they are hanging around.

We made it onto Saturday’s Best. A win is a win, and even if you get it in dramatic style, like the Phillies have been getting lately, it’s still going into the ‘W’ column. All that winning and the Phillies are still in that mediocre category. Phils have a 31-31 record on June 13th and in 2nd place in the NL East.

My question of course is, ‘Why can’t the Phils dominate teams? On paper, they seem somewhat to be a team to reckon with but when it comes down to getting things done on the field. It’s just a coin flip sometimes to know what kind of team is going to be playing he game.

Don’t get me wrong, the win-streak and the dramatic wins are nice. Celebrate a little less though Phillies because you have to learn to be disciplined and strong enough to go out there and start dominating a series, or a better team.

It must be good for Joe Girardi to beat his old team, the Yankees. Can the Phillies do it again this afternoon at Citizens Bank Park? Bryce Harper has been getting some wood on the ball lately. He’s getting back into shape after being off for injury for that hit to the face that he suffered from a pitch.

Aaron Nola vs Domingo German this afternoon at 1:05 PM at CBP.
