Phils win the “Battle of Freddy’s”

The Phillies were 1 strike away from winning the game last night in the top of the 9th inning, Jonathan Papelbon was battling with Braves’ Andrelton Simmons and Simmons yanked a ball over the left field wall for a home run to tie the game up 5-5.

In a game where too many players were named “Freddy”, the Phillies ended up walking off with a game winner by Freddy Galvis, when he smacked a home run over the right field fence in the bottom of the 9th off of ‘that Freddy Garcia‘ as Chris Wheeler had told us on the TV broadcast of the game, just in case anyone was wondering if this was the same pitcher that the Phillies had signed and was terrible some years ago.

There was a third ‘Freddie’ in this game, that of course is Braves first baseman, Freddie Freeman.

The Phillies are now 4-3 in September, and it’s good to see the Phillies start to win against a Braves team that had dominated the NL East all year. Still hard to believe that a team like the Phillies were never in first place at all this year, and now the Phil’s have a 7-8 record against the Braves for the season record in 2013.

It’s Cole Hamels today, and I don’t even want to mention it, but I will. The Phillies are going for the sweep today against the Atlanta Braves at CBP.
