Halladay may be down to last few starts as a Phillie

We’re going to be seeing a few more starts in a Phillies uniform from a future Hall of Famer, Roy Halladay. One of those starts is tonight at Citizens Bank Park against the Washington Nationals.

The future of Roy Halladay may be doubtful as it pertains to him staying in a Phillies uniform after this year. His shoulder seems like it is better, but there is something that just isn’t the same about Halladay since he has returned from the DL from the surgery on his right shoulder which was done on May 15th. Halladay’s return to the Phils rotation was somewhat rushed, and he might have benefited from a few more starts in the minors before returning to the Phillies rotation.

Halladay has allowed 5 or more Earned Runs an astonishing 5 times already this year, perhaps we can discount most of those games before Halladay went onto the DL but the last start for Roy saw him give up 5 ER against the Cubs on August 30, 2013.

Roy Halladay came to Philly to win a championship, the dream of winning a championship here has been greatly diminished in the past two seasons. Does next year look any better for this?

Will Halladay continue to pitch after this season with the somewhat poor results he’s had so far?

Phillies Halladay Notes:

Halladay vs the Nats lifetime at CBP:

vs Nationals at CBP: 3-1, 3.00 ERA (9 ER, 27.0 IP) in 4 career starts

686.0 IP) in 99 starts … The Phillies are 64-35 (.646) in his starts
