Simulated crowd noise, cardboard cutouts, this should be interesting

Yesterday, there were articles in the press that the Phillies would indeed be playing walk-up music and having prerecorded crowd noise fill the stadium at times. Here is the link to the MLB.com article, and here is another to the Philadelphia Inquirer article. This should be an entertaining sideline to what will be going on with the baseball game.

In happier times, Bryce Harper gets a cool shower on the field, we won’t see this during the 2020 season:

There will be cardboard cut-outs as well for fans, probably behind the homeplate area, first and foremost. That should be interesting too. If you watched the Korean Baseball league start up from a couple of months ago, you’ve probably already seen some of this. Still, it will be somewhat amusing to see it in Philadelphia.

Even the Phanatic will be there, though he won’t be allowed on the field. So, this will be implemented differently across baseball in the MLB, it should be very interesting. The City of Philadelphia has announced a ban of any attendance for sports teams. This means for the foreseeable future, there will be no Phillies fans in attendance or Eagles fans and Flyer fans, as the ban lasts through February of 2021 – unless something changes in regards to the status of the Covid-19 virus.
