Didi and the Phillies what can we expect for 2020?

Didi Gregorius will be playing for the Phillies this upcoming season, his real name is Mariekson Julius Gregorius and he was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on February 20, 1990.

Didi would rather be playing for the Yankees of course, but due to many circumstances including the signing of Gerrit Cole and his over the top $324M contract, by the way when did Gerrit Cole get that good? It wasn’t like he’s been a real dominating pitcher his whole career. He had a couple of good seasons with the Houston Astros though. Back to Didi, he was propelled out of NY for just this reason, and the NY sports pages were splashed with remorse at losing Didi and his playing attributes.

Is Didi actually a Knight? The Netherlands baseball team in the 2011 World Baseball Cup were all awarded a special OON, or Order of Orange-Nassau, following their win over Cuba in the World Cup. Didi was a player on the team, and he uses this special handle especially in his twitter feed. You can find Didi’s twitter feed here @DidiG18 .

What can we expect from Didi as a Phillie in 2020? I’m expecting him to come out swinging, providing of course the Phillies can find a place for him to play regularly, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the Phillies tried to move someone from this crowded field of contestants for the infield spots.

Hopefully, Didi will have a season free of injuries, he hit 16 HR and had 61 RBI for the Yankees in 2019, but his batting average was a dismal .238 – that may have been another reason the Yankees weren’t too sad to part with Didi. But overall stepping into the shoes of Derek Jeter when he retired was the task that Didi had to take on, and he did that marvelously. He will be reunited with Joe Girardi for 2020 so, who else knows the real kind of player Didi is like Joe does?
