Today is a pivotal date in the 1993 World Series for the Philadelphia Phillies.

On this date, the Phillies lost to Pat Hentgen and the Toronto Blue Jays by a 10-3 score. Danny Jackson took the loss in the game, where the Phillies got 9 hits but just couldn’t overcome the offensive onslaught by the Blue Jays.

62,689 fans crammed into the Vet to watch this Game 3 of the 1993 World Series, if the Vet never closed, the Phillies would have packed record numbers into those seats from 2007-2010 with the run that they were on.

It had been 10 years since the Phillies returned to the World Series stage in 1993, previously the Phillies lost to the Baltimore Orioles in the 1983 World Series and unfortunately, a lot of the memories of both series fade very quickly because the Phils didn’t win the series, the games live on in the record books though.
